On 29th October, as part of our ongoing partnership with Southwark Council, we joined the Books & Beyond Open Day at Canada Water Library to celebrate creativity, learning, and community connection. Through interactive activities for both adults and children, we helped bring local history to life and shared the joy of play with over 190 visitors.
We were thrilled to take part in Southwark Council Libraries’ Open Day: Books & Beyond at Canada Water Library — a vibrant celebration of creativity, learning, and community.
Across two special sessions, we shared the joy of connection through play and storytelling. In the morning, part of our Bringing Your Archives to Life initiative complemented the library’s wonderful archival display: a reminder of the power of preserving memories and celebrating local history. Later, the energy shifted as children and families joined us for interactive light painting and games from The Happiness Programme, filling the space with laughter, colour, and curiosity.
Over 190 people joined in throughout the day, each bringing their own spark to a truly joyful event. It was inspiring to see the library so alive, a real heart of the community, welcoming people of all ages and walks of life.
